project: Good News

"Good News",

An “Information object“ at a busy street corner. Every day there will be a selection of “good news” in running letters on a display screen. Prior to that, „bad news“ will be changed into ”good ones.“
Many news messages will thus become absurd. The basic question is: What does ”good news“ mean? This is seen very subjectively.

The artist addresses the role of the media in the process of opinion making and pleads for a responsible usage with news. As a Serbian citizen he had to experience the extreme media manipulations of the Milosevic era.

„ The “Good News” project deals with this overwhelming phenomena of NEWS, its potential to dominate the attention and the will by the diffusion of insecurity and fear via bad news, catastrophes and tragedies either massive or personal.“ (Mihael Milunovic)
